In light of declaring 2022 the Year of Civil Society and in support of the role of civil society organizations in achieving sustainable development: Issuing Policy Paper No. (1) from a series of policy papers on (The role of civil society organizations in achieving the 2030 sustainable development goals) Paper (1) entitled: The role of civil society organizations in achieving the “third goal” of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, concerned with “good health and well-being.” The paper was the result of a “round table” discussion panel for civil work and health experts, including representatives of civil society organizations, the governmental and private sectors, and international organizations, which are the parties concerned with the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals, “Good Health and Well-Being.” A number of 35 experts and representatives of international and governmental bodies and civil society participated in the meeting. The discussion revolved around three axes among the participants: - ✳️The first axis: The current status of the health services system (achievements/challenges) in light of Egypt’s strategic vision for sustainable development 2030 ✳️The second axis: The reality of the current contribution of civil society organizations to achieving the third goal. ✳️The third axis: The future of the partnership between the private sector and both the government sector and the private sector to achieve the third goal of good health and well-being. The paper includes a proposed community vision and recommendations for agencies and parties concerned with activating the role of civil society organizations in achieving the third goal.
